This year, I decided to take on the challenge and obtain qualifications as a Full Cave diving instructor. As someone passionate about overhead diving, I was aware of the difficulty and demands of conducting training in such an environment. My goal was to teach others cave diving and provide them with not only knowledge but also safety.
My journey began at the beginning of the year. Together with my lead instructor, we established a plan of action for the upcoming months, encompassing both theoretical and practical aspects. Initially, we focused on familiarizing ourselves with literature and educational materials related to cave diving. Then, I started intensive dry land training to master the fundamental skills and procedures.
In July, I had an incredible opportunity to accompany my instructor, Jack Konikowski, during his Full Cave course in Spain. The training lasted approximately 10 days and was extremely intense. We had the chance to discuss every question and refine our skills in real-life instructor-level scenarios. It was a significant challenge as the knowledge regarding safe cave diving is extensive.
An unforgettable experience was also diving in the beautiful Cueva del Agua and Fuentenevina caves, as well as P20. These caves not only offered breath-taking nature but also presented various challenges that we had to overcome in a controlled and safe manner.
The next stage of my training will take place in France in October. I feel increasingly confident in my abilities, and my commitment to enhancing them is unwavering. I strive to become the best instructor possible, sharing my passion and knowledge with fellow divers while always prioritizing their safety.
